Issues
Overall our quality of life in Bonita Springs is great and has recently been impacted over the past few years by our continued growth. Projects under development will continue to impact: the traffic on our roads, the retention and flow of stormwater, and our remaining wetlands and wildlife habitat.
Our primary issues are;
- Traffic congestion and flow along Bonita Beach Road, Bonita Grande, and E Terry Road.
- Enforcement of the Future Land Uses contained in the COMPREHENSIVE PLAN OF THE CITY OF BONITA SPRINGS FLORIDA.
- The beautification of Bonita Beach Road east of I-75.
- Updating traffic studies to incorporate anticipated volumes from the developments currently under construction.
- Updating Stormwater and Flood Mitigation plans to address the stormwater retention and flows, and the risk of future flooding associated with the developments currently under construction.
